About Peter Morris

Peter began his career as a journalist. After his first position working on country newspapers, he gained experience in radio and television news. This led to an opportunity to establish a trade magazine serving the broadcast industry and then a position as the Technology Editor for a metro daily. These experiences led to a temporary appointment to the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal’s inquiry into the impact of the domestic satellite on the broadcasting industry as a Senior Researcher. Completing an MA (Science and Technology Policy) was the catalyst for starting a small consulting firm, Telesis Consulting. Telesis had a variety of local, national and international public sector clients researching and advising on the impact of technology on industries and regions for over a decade. In 2008 Peter was appointed as one of the foundation Business Advisors to the federal government’s Enterprise Connect program. EC was established to support small and medium businesses. Peter was responsible for delivering the program in the central west of NSW. In his time serving the region he worked with more than 100 business owners across all industries. Peter is also co-founder of “Passing the Baton” (with the Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship), a social enterprise supporting the transition of Baby Boomer business owners to the next generation of owners.
